In case you're wondering about who handles the information on this website, here's some more info about me:

My name is Melvin Akerman and I've been a type-I diabetic since age 9 (1977), for about some 31 years now.

This website is my effort to bring about the latest on Diabetes Research and information.

While there currently is no cure for type 1 Diabetes, the treatment options are becoming better than they’ve ever been and after many years of a long and winding road there is an end finally approaching to living with this life-style, and this may just happen perhaps in the next few years, since many of the possiblities for a definitive solution are just begining to show up.

All of these are within the next few years of reaching their goal of getting to a cure.
